November Blog Post Highlight

Hello everyone! I’m starting a new type of blog post specifically for highlighting my favourite posts of the last month! I’ve seen a few people doing these sorts of posts and I love them so much, it really gives back to the blogging community and helps connect us all to amazing posts! So without further ado, let’s look at my faves from November!

2021 Most Anticipated Book Releases – Adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy Edition by Chai @ Books With Chaima – As your resident love of adult sci-fi and fantasy I had to include this list! It’s absolutely huge!! As 2021 is fast approaching it’s time to have a look at what’s coming out next year. What I love most about Chai’s blog is so many of their recommendations are wonderfully diverse. Every book on this list with LGBT representation has a little rainbow flag next to it!

Color The Shelves: Interview with Rin Chupeco, author of The Ever Cruel Kingdom by Fadwa @ Word Wonders – I always look forward to Fadwa’s Color The Shelves posts! I was even more hyped for this one because Rin Chupeco is such an amazing author! This interview was such an amazing read that I highly recommend! The discussion around gods and goddesses got my brain whirring!

The Importance of Self-Promotion | Blogging Advice by Northern Plunder – I’m always so here for advice posts and this one was amazingly useful! We should all be self-promoting the work that we spend so much time on. With tailored advice for Twitter, Instagram, and even Pinterest every blogger should read this post to up their promotion game.

Review || The Burning God – R.F. Kuang // A Stunning Ending to an Incredible Series by Krisha @ Bookathon – I’ve not hidden how much I love The Poppy War series! I’ve not read The Burning God yet, but fingers crossed for having time this month. I had to include this review because it was so stunning and well-written, it really got me even more hyped than I already am to finish the series!

Comparative Titles: Pros and Many, Many Cons by Lauren @ Love Yo Shelf – I absolutely loved this discussion post about comparative titles. Comparing a book to others can be useful for marketing, but as Lauren discusses it’s often weaponized against BIPOC authors. This is a very balanced discussion surrounding their pros and cons that was brilliantly insightful!

Midnight Designs: The Burning God Phone Wallpapers by Aentee Read at Midnight – Yes, it’s more Poppy War stuff, I can’t help myself. These are such beautiful phone wallpapers that any fan of the series needs to check out immediately. I think my favourite is the one with the quote “she was a goddess, she was a monster”.

GUIDE TO: Bookish Holiday Gifts by Tree @ Words About Words – With how crap this year has been we should all be doing our best to support small businesses if we can! Christmas if the perfect chance to do that and I love this guide to bookish gifts, there’s so many amazing things here for the bookish people in your life, or to add to your own wishlists!

LIST: 2020 reads that emotionally WRECKED me by Michelle @ Magical Reads – These are the kind of lists I live for. I crave books that will emotionally wreck me, I need to be destroyed, feed them to me. The posts includes a bunch of my favourites, but also made me add pretty much everything else mentioned to my TBR. If you also want to feel those big feelings this is the list for you.

A Brief Introduction to Publishing Monopolisation: The Greed, the Bad & the Ugly by Finn @ Evidently Bookish – If you want to know why Penguin Random House buying Simon & Schuster was such a hot topic and criticised move, this post is the one to do it! Finn manages to explain the situation, and why it sucks for everyone so well! Basically took the thoughts from my head and wrote them out way better than I could. This whole situation reminds me that we really need to be supporting indie publishers, they’ll need our support even more in the time to come.

I hope you found some blog posts that’ll you enjoy in this list! I’m going to be doing this every month from now on. Please don’t think I didn’t enjoy your posts if I didn’t add you onto this list, everyone’s putting out such great content and we should all be proud.
