Hey everyone! Today I’m bringing you something short and sweet since I’ve been blogging a lot this week! It’s the This or That book Tag!
- Mention the creator of the tag (thanks Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks for creating this!)
- Thank the blogger who tagged you! (thanks Becca @ Toastie Books! If you aren’t following her you should be!)
- Tag 10 other people to do the tag and spread the love!
Reading on the couch or on the bed?
I read in both places, but the sofa is where I spend most of my day, so it’s also where I do most of my reading.
Sweet or salty snacks while reading?
I don’t really snack while I read! But generally I prefer salty snacks, or savory is probably the better descriptor. I usually eat sweet things as a treat, not a snack!
Trilogies or Quartets?
I read more trilogies! I don’t actually see many quartets around, maybe I should go looking for them.
First person or third person pov?
I usually prefer third person pov! It depends on the book though. I generally prefer complex books with heavy worldbuilding so first person wouldn’t work in that context. I do enjoy first person when reading books with an unreliable narrator, or those that are heavily character-focused though.
Night or Morning reader?
I usually read in the early evening, before I have dinner but after I’m done with general work. Or to be honest, the afternoon if I’m free. I don’t usually read in the morning because my brain hasn’t kicked in yet.
Libraries or bookstores?
I think libraries are an incredibly useful resource, but I don’t use mine as much as I should. Especially with the pandemic on it’s been difficult. They also don’t have the greatest selection, and I’d have to get the train into town. I wish our small library nearby was funded well enough to actually be open and have more books! Overall I find bookshops more exciting, especially cute independent ones, or ones with coffee shops in! But I don’t want to dismiss the importance of libraries!
Books that make you laugh or make you cry?
I generally prefer sad books to funny books, I think? I’m not much of a laugher or crier when I’m reading because I’m too busy trying to storm my way through the story.
Black or White book covers?
Black! I completely agree with Becca here that black covers don’t get as dirty so they’re superior!
Character driven or plot driven?
I’m going to say character driven, but plot is still very important to me. I’ve enjoyed books that are completely about the characters, but they do feel as if there’s something missing. I’m actually probably more details driven, if an aspect of the story has a lot of depth to it I’ll probably enjoy it, whether that be characters, worldbuilding, themes, etc.
